Navigators – Helping families navigate through uncertainty, with support and care.

Support for Children, Young People & Families in Guernsey & Alderney

When someone important is seriously ill it can be incredibly difficult to know how best to support a child or young person through the uncertainty, worry, and complex emotions. At Navigators, we are here to help.

We offer compassionate support to children, young people, and their families in Guernsey and Alderney when a loved one is facing a serious or life limiting illness, whether it’s a parent, sibling, or someone else close to them.

How we can help

Every family’s situation is unique, so our support is flexible and tailored to individual needs. We offer:

· One-to-one support for children and young people when a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver is seriously ill

· Advice and guidance for parents, carers, and professionals

· Resources and signposting when the person who is ill is a grandparent, friend, teacher, or other significant figure

· Age-appropriate information and emotional tools to help children understand serious illness, talk about what’s happening, and express their thoughts and feelings

· Support for schools and colleges, including staff training or direct support for pupils (with consent)

We work alongside families offering the right support at the right time, with compassion and understanding.

Who We Support

We support families living in Guernsey and Alderney. Our service is available regardless of whether a loved one is receiving care at home, in hospital, or in a hospice setting.

· Professionals seeking anonymous advice or guidance
